Sometimes love shows up in the most unexpected places, even in virtual reality. Austin and Britney first met in VRChat, a favorite game for PC gamers, in April 2023. What started as casual conversation quickly became something neither of them wanted to end.

With Austin in Waco, Texas and Britney in Battle Creek, Michigan, the distance didn’t slow their connection. After three months of late-night talks, laughter, and virtual adventures, Austin flew to Michigan in July. Those three days together turned what started online into something real, and it’s only grown stronger ever since.

By February 2024, not even a year into their story, Austin and Britney knew it was time to take the next step and build a life together. With two cats, Ang and Katara, and a mix of excitement and nerves, Britney packed up her life in Michigan and moved over a thousand miles to Austin’s condo in Waco, Texas.

What started as a big move quickly became a new rhythm of shared mornings, quiet evenings, and the comfort of simply being together in the same place.

On the evening of February 14, 2025, Austin had something special planned. They celebrated Valentine’s Day at 1424 Bistro with a five-course dinner, candlelight, and quiet conversation.

After dessert, Austin handed Britney a small Valentine’s mailbox with a card tucked inside. When she opened it, the note held a simple, heartfelt question: “Will you marry me?” As she looked up, Austin was getting on one knee, ring in hand, ready to start their next chapter together.
